Another weekend, more Musketeers Queen Envy. (Also some Wolf Hall Queen Envy.)

One thing I like about January... all the time with the curtains drawn.

We'll never be royals

I continue to envy the Queen in The Musketeers sooooo much.

This is casual Friday.

Sam

So apparently somebody made a Spells R Us movie in all but name. And as the trailer and IMDB page show it has people you might actually recognise in some of the roles other than the hero(ine). One of the jokes in the trailer even managed to make me chuckle.

The Experiment

The needle slides in and the staff watch you start to stabilize.

"Won't be long now..." the head of the project assures you.

You look up at the mirror mounted above the gurney. Watching and waiting for the first signs of the change.

The experiment will prove so much... help fund the research program... free you from the life you've been forced to live.

(Thanks to Cerulean Dreams, who is about to let me play this. :) )

Hello, Nurse!

Call The Midwife returns, now starring Charlotte Ritchie, who I have previously fancied/envied in Fresh Meat.

Not wild about the no-makeup look. but...

Horrible weather outside. Time to stay in and wear something naughty.

Can I borrow that dress? And that one? And that one too?

I find the number of attractive people in 1950s outfits very distracting when watching the BBC's "Father Brown" murder mysteries.

Just one guest star example on the right.

How to live in Edwardian times

A lovely piece on corsets in Edwardian versus Victorian times, among other things, for when my time travel tickets arrive.

1: don't be working class, obviously.

The Boy In The Dress aired here on Boxing Day on TV, adapted from the book by David Walliams. I don't like a lot of what he does, but this was heartfelt, if daft.

Me for the first time this year

First opportunity of the year to dress up properly. So nice to feel a skirt swish around me again.

News

Well, the news was pretty mixed around New Year. The first equal marriages in my home country, then the widely-reported death of a TG teen. I hope the year doesn't stay like this.

Happy New Year

I saw in the bells wearing trousers. Oh well, can't have everything.
