Being butch is so exhausting. Still, nearly done.

Whatever shall I wear?
Looking forward to a weekend of lots of going out... wishing I was on a man's arm.

John Oliver continuing to be great on LGBTQ+ discrimination news. And sadly necessary.

Not if you were...
The Last Man On Earth is about (not actually) the last man on Earth after a global disaster meeting a woman after two years alone, and then... January Jones is the second woman he meets, two days after the first demands that they get married so they can have babies and repopulate humanity. Ouch.
(I'm reminded of The Quiet Earth, where the supposed last man alive tries on various clothes including a nightie, and the last woman goes for a fairytale princess costume at the earliest opportunity. Like I would.)

Give it all up and become a showgirl? Okay!
Weekend's over, back to passing for male. Ick. I want to run away and join the circus Lady Boys.

Back to me time
Okay, busy times just about over. Time to kick off those heels... no, wait... time to put them on! Getting home from work means dressing as a secretary. Wish I could correct this obvious continuity error...

Jessica Raine gets to be retro 50s again
This time in Partners In Crime, a 50s set adaptation of an Agatha Christie series, alongside David Walliams who I'm sure must be as jealous of her frocks as I am...

Trans Scripts
Currently showing at the Edinburgh Festival, Trans Scripts is "an original stage play by based on material assembled from interviews with people from around the world who identify as transgender. Its characters range in age, ethnicity, socio-economic status, educational level and experiences." With a name cast including trans actors, it's been receiving strong reviews.

I know I need to feel released...
I know I need to feel relief...
Take care to bury all that you can...
Take care to leave a trace of a man...

And this is going to be a long week too. So, um. how are you? Bought anything pretty lately?

I want to be the before...
Okay, this one's a more serious statement about gender identity. (Still, those shoes!)

Being a Ladyboy
I wonder what it would be like to live in a culture where TG is as accepted as it is in, say, Thailand, where ladyboys are prominent enough to be part of our cultural stereotype of the country. (Right now it's the 20th anniversary of the Lady Boys Of Bangkok coming to every Edinburgh Festival.) Would I have come out if it had been more acceptable to do so?

24 TG historical figures
From Ranker. Good to see some representation, like Marsha P. Johnson, one of the actual heroes of Stonewall (unlike the white guy made up to star in the movie). I think including Joan of Arc is a bit of a stretch but nm.

Being paid to wear retro dresses? Sounds good to me!
It's another quiet Saturday evening, watching TV and wishing I looked as glamorous as the leading lady. (Specifically, the film noir episode of Castle.)

Bethany Black to guest star in Doctor Who
Bethany Black (previously mentioned here) will be appearing in the new series this autumn.
She's not playing a specifically trans character, which is pretty damn cool.
And it comes close after the Master becoming Missy, and current Doctor Who boss Steven Moffat saying this about that:
“... you know how human beings are never completely male or female; you’re mostly a woman, I’m mostly a man? — that maybe a male Time Lord is someone most of whose regenerations are male,” Moffat continued. “Maybe he’ll have a couple of female ones. The science-fiction of that would make sense to me. Otherwise I think life might be a little bit complicated on Gallifrey — or would it? I don’t think they’d care.”

Still thinking idly about writing something...
Plenty of time for thinking idly at the moment.

Um...
That awkward moment when someone asks what to add to an RP as TG transformation isn't fantastical enough.

A quiet week
Visitors here, so no time for dressing, not much time for typing either. :/

TG movie: Unconditional Love
Unconditional Love is all about one condition. It's a no-budget British indie film with a very pretty reluctant crossdressing boy in the centre. I never looked that pretty even at sixteen. (Though I'd loved a chance to go as far as he does... unlike him.)
