So the news of a temp sent home for refusing to wear high heels went viral, the company backed down, and some of the non-serious newspapers are comparing it to bra-burning as a major feminist event.
It does kind of make me wonder why women burned their bras instead of ditching heels? Heels are crazy. And I say this as a crossdresser. I only ever wear them at home, but even if I could wear them out I'd... hesitate to do so.
I do agree, but the explanation I've heard from women who like heels is that they really push their posture - making them look more focused and energetic, perhaps, because of the "amplified" legs? And height too - but being past six feet tall myself I don't really feel a need to boost my height even more. ;)
