A woman has to live through defeat, sometimes, Men fall on their swords or such in a conflict (or switch sides to keep leading), women have to chew down the bad turn and live on. All the more dark and dusky if it's a proud man who finds that he will live through some of this as a woman at the hands of an Englishman.

That would depend on what happened... would he serve the time demanded and be released, or would he be kept like this longer...?
