Who was the first TG?
We know the first SRS, but who was the first transperson? There are trans-related myths in a lot of cultures, there's a command against it in the Bible (as well as cotton-poly blends) but who was the first person to cross that line?
There is the Heracles/Omphale episode, where the mighty hero had to submit to wearing women's clothing and serve as a maid at the Queen's court, while she wore the lion skin and wielded his bow and club. What we're told about the son of Zeus varies a great deal in age of course. Some people in the know about Greek myths though (such as G:S. Kirk in "The Nature of Greek Myths", a very readable book) have speculated that this part of his mythical persona was quite old, and tied in with a wider motive of the strong, fairly uncultured man losing control over himself in drinking binges and excess violence and so on, and then having to be chastized and humiliated. This kind of crossdressing and submissiveness may have been dramatized in Heracles cults at some places, too.
