(Re)Assignment

The gender politics of new movie (Re)Assignment sound... a bit off. It's a forced feminization fantasy played for drama and action - and possibly horror, and maybe a few laughs. That could go rather badly.

  1. Mmm, doesn't sound good. I caught a film on the tv last week - called Kept Woman - where a suburban wife was abducted by her infatuated older neighbour and forced to merge with his 1950s style, Stepfordized "secret family" and household. That could have been interesting but it failed because the guy was obviously a dangerous and unlovable psycho (he already had another woman he had abducted and trained into submission, but she just came across as docile and frumpy).

Of course they had to live in his basement 24/7 much like the Cleveland girls or they would have attracted attention. I mean...kidnapped by your *neighbour* and held in his house, a few doors away from your family? ;-) Not "our kind of story".
